PRESS
Le Revue des Vins de France 90/100 (2022)
It smells of fresh grapes, even raspberry coulis. An aromatic elegance that precedes a fruit in a "natural" and lively spirit. A wine with a smooth texture, delicious. A pure delight.
Decanter 93/100 (2023)
Gorgeously expressive herbal freshness on the nose. There's a tangy, slightly balsamic edge to the forest berry fruit, zingy acidity and an overall sense of vibrancy; a wine very much in technicolour. Crisp, fresh tannic frame, this is so expressive and smashable; it has lots to say. Reductive and slightly stinky on opening, so give it a good decant.
Jancis Robinson 16/20 (2023)
A bright and pure nose with blue fruits and cocoa. Such energy here with an engaging palate of blueberry, mulberry and a real purity. Rounded and ripe succulent tannins that balance really well with the fresh zesty acidity. Delicious.
Drink Rhone
60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre, 5% Cinsault from small pebble stone covered sandy soils, hand harvested, destemmed, 2-3 week concrete vat vinification, wild yeasts, no SO2 added during vinification, pumping overs, vat raised 12 months, unfined, unfiltered, organic wine.
2021 ***
attractive red dress; the nose has a limpid air, led by black cherry with a note of damp moss, a rather sultry undertone. The palate delivers immediately, slightly clipped black fruit, is a clear drinking, front-loaded Lirac, just a little tannin in tow towards the finish. It's technically efficient, can soften the close in another 12 months or so. 14°. 2,700 b. 60% Gren, 30% Syr, 5% Cins, 5% Mourv. From late 2023. 2029-30 Feb 2023
2020 ***
full red dress; the nose has a raw tone, feels exerted, mixes pumice stone with crushed red berries, has an innate smokiness, a cloudiness over the fruit. The palate serves a display of red berry, immediate fruit on the attack, has a lactic note on the second half, an off-key sweetness into a savory finale, the fruit backing off there. It's only just together, needs drinking soon. 14.5°. 2,700 b. 60% Gren, 30% Syr, 5% Mourvèdre, 5% Cinsault. €13 at the Château. 2025-26 Feb 2022
We are going to taste (Dominique Hutin) **(*)
The Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault summoned in bottles have been used to create a red with chocolate tannins, integrated richness and a fresh tea finish. The exact opposite of the "Nique les Clones" vintage, this vintage does not hide its "Rhône" origins. Sunny without excess, still very young, it can be enjoyed today after a long decanting and tomorrow after a sleep in the cellar.
